Computational Biology

The computational biology program at Carnegie Mellon is an internationally-recognized major for students who want to solve biological and biomedical problems using mathematical and computational methods.

Carnegie Mellon’s department of Biological Sciences realized the potential of computational biology early, offering one of the first degree programs in the United States. In Qatar, the Computational Biology program is a collaborative effort between Carnegie Mellon and Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar. This program provides an intensive, interdisciplinary education that enables outstanding students to become leaders in identifying and solving tomorrow’s biological problems using computational methods.
