  • Identifies new ideas—including implementation.
  • Is a problem-solver; solutions oriented.
  • Plans effectively for long-term success

Outstanding Newcomer Award

Nominees demonstrate the following:

  • Provides outstanding teamwork to their specific department or division.
  • Makes considerable contributions to the university in presentations, serving on committees, or projects beyond their job description
  • Willing to assist beyond normal expectations.
  • Demonstrates passion for their professional development.
  • Shows initiative, innovation and creativity in their work.
  • Promotes an environment of cooperation and collaboration.

 

Outstanding Service to Students Award

Nominees demonstrate the following:

  • Identifies student’s needs and expectations and responds appropriately.
  • Considers the impact on the student when taking action, setting policies or carrying out tasks.
  • Ability to involve students in decision-making/seeks student’s input.
  • Refers students to the appropriate department or employee to solve specific problems; and to perform appropriate follow-up as needed with the student to ensure that their concern has been addressed.
  • Dedication to continuously improve student satisfaction and engagement -- and seeks to remove barriers to outstanding service.

Outstanding Dedication to Carnegie Mellon University

Nominees demonstrate the following:

  • Commitment to quality performance.
  • Has a “can-do” attitude and consistently does whatever it takes to overcome obstacles in order to accomplish University goals.
  • Has made an important contribution that benefits the entire university campus.
  • Their work has transcended the boundaries of the Qatar campus and has impacted the University as a whole.
  • They have fostered cooperation and collaboration between the university and its constituents to better serve the Carnegie Mellon community.
  • They have committed their time and energy to working together with others as a team to improve and enhance Carnegie Mellon University globally.

Outstanding Commitment to the Community

Nominees demonstrate the following:

  • Commitment to quality performance.
  • Has a “can-do” attitude and consistently does whatever it takes to overcome obstacles in order to accomplish University goals.
  • Has made an important contribution that benefits the region.
  • Their work has transcended the boundaries of CMUQ and Education City -- and has impacted the local community of Doha, State of Qatar, or the Gulf Region.
  • They have fostered cooperation and collaboration between the university and its external community constituents to better serve local community.
  • They have committed their time and energy to working together with others as a team in order to improve and enhance Doha, State of Qatar, or the Gulf Region.
